Active phase of CSTO’s Rubezh-2025 exercises concludes in Kyrgyzstan
The active stage of the CSTO’s Rubezh-2025 command and staff exercises, involving the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR), has concluded in Kyrgyzstan, the organisation’s press service reported to Russian media.
“In light of the rising conflict potential in several regions bordering the CSTO’s area of responsibility, the primary objectives of the CRDF CAR remain maintaining readiness to repel external military aggression, counter terrorist threats, and respond promptly to dangers to national and regional security,” said Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, as quoted in the statement.
Serdyukov noted that lessons learned from the special military operation were incorporated at all stages of the exercise, and scenarios involving air cover and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were also practised.
According to the CSTO, the final stage of the exercises included the landing of tactical airborne troops, the evacuation of civilians from combat zones to temporary accommodation centers, delivering comprehensive firepower against illegal armed groups, joint operations by special units to liberate a vessel in the water area, clearing populated areas, and mitigating the aftermath of hostilities.
“The Russian contingent primarily consisted of personnel from the Central Military District’s 201st military base. Overall, around 1,200 servicemen and 500 units of military and special equipment, including aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and combat boats, participated in the exercise,” the organisation added.
The active phase of the Rubezh-2025 military exercises ran in Kyrgyzstan on September 17-20.
The CSTO is composed of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
