Aghdam Industrial Park in Karabakh marks export milestone with wallpaper shipment to Georgia
A resident of the Aghdam Industrial Park in Karabakh has completed its first export transaction, shipping wallpaper to Georgia, as reported by the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones (ADEZ) under the Ministry of Economy.
This marks the first time that products have been exported from the Aghdam Industrial Park, with wallpaper produced by Mister Decor, a resident company of the park, being shipped to Georgia, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Currently, the company is in talks regarding expanding its exports to other countries.
To recap, Aghdam Industrial Park marks a significant milestone in Azerbaijan's post-conflict reconstruction and economic revitalization efforts. According to Elshad Nuriyev, Chairman of Board of Azerbaijan's Agency for Development of Economic Zones, the park will see five licensed enterprises begin production, focusing on concrete construction materials and various other products.
Since its launch in 2021, Azerbaijan has invested $7 million into the park’s phased development, now hosting 19 resident enterprises and 6 non-resident entities. Total direct investments are projected to reach $103 million, with over 1,600 permanent jobs expected to be created.
The park’s diverse product portfolio, including carpets, textiles, renewable energy products, and construction materials, enhances the country's manufacturing base.
Part of a wider reconstruction effort following the 44-day conflict with Armenia, the park spans 190 hectares and contributes to Azerbaijan's broader economic strategy, including the development of five industrial zones.
Investments in these zones have reached $3.7 billion since 2011.
