Ambassador Husyev: Grateful for Azerbaijan’s steadfast support for Ukraine PHOTO

Ukraine has thanked Azerbaijan for sending generators and other humanitarian aid to Irpin, aimed at supporting local water infrastructure and community resilience.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev, shared details of the initiative on X, writing:

"Together with Mykola Kalashnik and Ambassador Seymur Mardaliyev, we oversaw the transfer of generators from the Republic of Azerbaijan to Irpin, strengthening the resilience of the community’s water supply. Grateful for Azerbaijan’s steadfast support for Ukraine."

The generators are intended to support local water infrastructure, reinforcing essential services for residents in Irpin.

Earlier, Azerbaijan delivered equipment to help restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the city of Irpin. The handover ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, Kyiv Regional Military Administration Head Mykola Kalashnyk, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev.

The shipment included 17 generators, four portable power systems, and three heating units, which will be transferred to the State Emergency Service. The aid was described as a demonstration of solidarity and support amid ongoing challenges from Russia’s attacks on critical infrastructure.

Kalashnyk thanked Azerbaijan for its continued assistance, noting that generators are vital for maintaining water supply, heating, and electricity. A state of emergency remains in effect in Kyiv due to the energy crisis, and Azerbaijan’s total humanitarian aid to Ukraine has reached around $45 million.
