Armenia becomes full-fledged member of International Criminal Court
01 February 2024 11:20
Armenia has officially become a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since February 1, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Moscow earlier called Yerevan's ratification of the Rome Statute of the ICC unacceptable against the background of the court's illegal "warrants" against Russia's leadership.
In November 2023, the ICC said that Armenia will become the 124th state party to join the Rome Statute from February 1, 2024, and the 19th state from the Eastern European group.
The Armenian parliament ratified the Rome Statute on October 3 last year. At that time, 60 MPs of the ruling Civil Pact party voted in favour of joining the ICC.
