Armenia responds to Azerbaijan’s proposal on “3+3” meeting venue
The Armenian Foreign Ministry has commented on Azerbaijan’s proposal regarding the venue for the next meeting of the regional “3+3” cooperation platform, stating that discussions on the matter are still ongoing.
According to reports by Armenian media cited by Caliber.Az, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan said the meeting should be held either in Yerevan or Baku. “Discussions will continue in order to find a mutually acceptable solution, and we will inform the public if an agreement is reached,” she told Public Television.
Her remarks followed statements made on December 8 by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Bayramov said Baku had proposed holding the next “3+3” format meeting first in Azerbaijan and then in Armenia, but added that “unfortunately, no agreement was reached — the Armenian side did not agree to this sequence.”
The “3+3” regional platform involves Azerbaijan, Armenia, Türkiye, Iran, Russia, and Georgia, although Tbilisi has so far declined to participate.
