Armenian emigration driven by desire to avoid military service PM says
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan revealed that many Armenians have emigrated to prevent their children from serving in the military.
During a discussion on demographic strategy, Pashinyan noted that this factor is often overlooked in demographic analyses, Sputnik Armenia reports.
Pashinyan emphasized the lack of statistics on this issue, highlighting that the exact number of citizens who left Armenia to avoid military service remains unknown. He pointed out that this emigration has deprived many Armenian children of proper education opportunities.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that these emigrants possessed significant potential and could have achieved considerable success in various fields had they remained in the country. He stressed the importance of addressing such factors to fully understand and improve Armenia's demographic situation.
