Armenian PM to miss World Economic Forum
The Armenian government has stated that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not attend the upcoming World Economic Forum Annual Meeting scheduled to take place from January 16 to 20 in the Swiss ski resort of Davos under the theme "Cooperation in a fragmented world".
Pashinyan attended the forum in 2019. In 2022, Armenia was represented at the WEF by its President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Caliber.az reports, citing Armenian media.
The forum is said to be attended by more than 50 heads of state and government, 19 central bank chairmen, 30 trade ministers, and 35 foreign ministers, as well as the United Nations' top representatives, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Moreover, it is expected that the forum will also bring together the UN secretary-general, the European Commission president, the Spanish prime minister, the presidents of Poland and Lithuania, the German chancellor, the presidents of South Korea and Iraq, and the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Greece, Georgia, Serbia and Albania.
