Armenian PM to visit Moscow for World Atomic Week — media
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is set to travel to Moscow, where World Atomic Week will take place from September 26 to 30, bringing together leaders of countries developing nuclear programs, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“Nikol Pashinyan has been invited to the event and, according to our source, will travel to Moscow. He also hopes to hold a separate meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. When asked about this, Armen Khachatryan, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Prime Minister’s Office, gave the customary response: ‘Information about the Prime Minister’s visits is provided in due course.’”
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova earlier said that Pashinyan may participate in World Atomic Week. The last meeting between Pashinyan and Putin took place on August 31 during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China, Armenian media added.
World Atomic Week, scheduled for September 26–30, 2025, at Moscow’s VDNKh Exhibition Center, is poised to be a significant gathering of global leaders, scientists, and industry experts focused on advancing peaceful nuclear technologies. Organised by Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom, the event, themed “Everything Starts with an Atom,” will feature plenary sessions, roundtables, and a youth program, expecting over 18,000 participants from countries with active or aspiring nuclear programs.
Notably, the United States has not been invited, reflecting the forum’s alignment with Russia’s geopolitical priorities, while the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), led by Director General Rafael Grossi, has confirmed its participation.
