Azerbaijan, Apple explore projects to turn country into regional digital hub
Azerbaijan has held talks with Apple on joint projects aimed at positioning the country as a regional digital hub.
According to Caliber.Az, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, shared details of the discussions in a post on the social media platform X.

The talks took place during Nabiyev’s visit to the United States, where he met with Jason Lundgaard, Apple’s Head of Corporate Government Affairs.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in digital transformation and innovation, as well as potential joint projects designed to help turn Azerbaijan into a regional digital hub. These initiatives include cooperation through the Apple Developer Academy and other programs focused on education, the development of the innovation ecosystem, and broader growth initiatives.
The meeting with Apple was part of a wider series of engagements held by Nabiyev during his US visit. Earlier, Azerbaijan discussed joint initiatives with Nvidia related to the application of advanced technologies in strategic sectors. Nabiyev also met with Boris Power, head of OpenAI’s Applied Research Office.
In addition, the minister held meetings with Meta’s Director of Global Public Policy, Molly Montgomery, AMD Senior Vice President David Wang, and Rachel Coleman, Google’s Head of International Government Affairs, along with a number of other representatives from the technology sector.
