Azerbaijan, Botswana establish diplomatic relations PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Botswana officially established diplomatic relations, following the signing of a Joint Communiqué in New York on November 11.
The agreement was signed by Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the UN Tofig Musayev and Botswana's Permanent Representative to the UN Charles Masole, Caliber.Az reports per the statement of Azerbaijan's mission to UN.

The Joint Communiqué outlines both countries' commitment to promoting mutual understanding and cooperation, emphasising the desire to strengthen bilateral relations for the benefit of their peoples. Both nations reaffirmed their dedication to upholding the principles of the United Nations Charter, including respect for international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
As part of the agreement, the two representatives also signed a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General, requesting that the Joint Communiqué be circulated as an official UN document.
