In Nakhchivan, a commemorative ceremony was held at the monument dedicated to Atatürk. Participants observed a moment of silence in memory of Atatürk and the fallen heroes of both brotherly nations.
The Turkish Consul General in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Asip Kaya, laid a wreath at the monument. The event also saw the participation of Azerbaijani state and government officials, officers from the Turkish Armed Forces’ military attaché office in Nakhchivan, Turkish entrepreneurs, and students studying in the autonomous republic, who laid flowers and paid their respects.
The memorial continued at the Turkish Consulate in Nakhchivan, where another minute of silence was observed and the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye were played. A video highlighting Atatürk’s life and military-political achievements was presented, followed by a series of speeches.
