Azerbaijan delivers note of protest to French ambassador
French Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Boillon was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on December 28.
A note of protest addressed to the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs was delivered to Boillon, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the meeting, deep concern was expressed over the continuation and expansion of the slanderous campaign against Azerbaijan by various political forces of France and stressed that all this happens against the background of a lack of response from the French government.
It was also noted that the groundless accusations addressed to Azerbaijan in the letter addressed to the French President by heads of the political forces represented in the French parliament, as well as appeals in the spirit of encroachment on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were inadmissible.
It was stated that the aforementioned letter is a continuation of targeted and systematic anti-Azerbaijani campaign that includes adoption of resolutions by both chambers of the French Parliament that are full of unfounded accusations against Azerbaijan.
The ministry stressed the need for the French government to take measures to immediately stop the anti-Azerbaijan campaign.
