Azerbaijan detains over 20 persons for border violation
The State Border Service of Azerbaijan detained 22 individuals for violating the state border between September 24 and 27.
The detentions occurred in the service areas of the Shamkir, Khudat, and Zagatala border detachments. Among those apprehended were three citizens of Algeria and 19 citizens of Pakistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the state service.
Initial investigations revealed that the detainees had entered Azerbaijan legally but intended to migrate to a European country by violating the state border.
The State Border Service has initiated further investigative measures to trace the channels of illegal migration involved in this case. Authorities remain committed to strengthening border security and preventing unlawful entry into the country.
