Azerbaijan election officials join disinformation, AI forum in Georgia
A delegation from the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) is visiting Georgia to take part in the 13th annual meeting of election management bodies, according to Azerbaijan’s CEC.
The delegation includes Deputy Chairman Rovzat Gasimov and Head of the General Department of the Secretariat Elshan Asgarov, who are participating at the invitation of Georgian CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The meeting, titled “Disinformation Strategies, the Role of Artificial Intelligence and Social Media in Ensuring Information Integrity,” will be held on June 17–18 in Batumi. It brings together senior officials from electoral bodies worldwide, along with representatives of international organisations, independent experts, and election technology specialists.
During the event, Gasimov is expected to deliver remarks on Azerbaijan’s experience in electoral administration and information integrity.
In addition to the formal sessions, the Azerbaijani delegation is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from various countries and international organisations. Discussions will focus on expanding interagency cooperation, sharing best practices in election management, and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
