Azerbaijan expands defence industry cooperation with Spain, China PHOTO
Azerbaijan is expanding its cooperation with leading military industry enterprises from Spain and China, further enhancing its defence sector partnerships.
Key agreements were reached during the IDEX-2025 International Defence Exhibition, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Azerbaijani representatives met with the President of Spain’s Escribano company, Xavier Escribano Ruiz, the Chairman of Indra, Angel Escribano Ruiz, as well as the President of China’s Norinco company, Chen Defang, and the Executive Director of Indonesia’s E-System Solutions FZ, Habib Boukharouba.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration with military industry enterprises, with both sides expressing commitment to expanding partnerships. Agreements were also made to facilitate mutual business visits to advance cooperation in defence technology and production.
As a result of the negotiations, Azersilah Defence Industry Holding, operating under the Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Spain’s Escribano company. Additionally, a cooperation agreement was concluded with China’s Norinco company, marking a significant step towards enhanced defence industry collaboration.
These agreements highlight Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to develop its military-industrial capabilities through international partnerships, fostering advanced defence solutions and technological innovation.
