During the ongoing 31st Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Finland's Foreign Minister, Elina Valtonen.
The two ministers focused on discussing the future of cooperation between their nations, particularly in light of Finland's upcoming chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Caliber.Az reports, citing publication by the Ministry on X.
They also addressed the bilateral cooperation agenda.
Minister Bayramov took the opportunity to brief Minister Valtonen on the current post-conflict situation in the region, highlighting the persistent threat of landmines and the ongoing efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
To recall, the 31st Ministerial Council of OSCE will be held in Malta on December 5-6, 2024.
The event, which is hosted at the invitation of the OSCE Chair-in-Office, Ian Borg, Malta's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, will bring together Foreign Ministers from all 57 OSCE participating States.
As the OSCE's principal decision-making body, the Ministerial Council provides a crucial platform for Foreign Ministers to assess and address the security situation across the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian regions. It will also serve to review the Organization's efforts in its various areas of activity.
