Azerbaijan foils smuggling of drugs through Caspian Sea VIDEO/PHOTO

On December 22 at 03:25, a significant drug smuggling attempt was thwarted thanks to the joint efforts by the Coast Guard Command of the Azerbaijani State Border Service and border vessels.
According to a statement by the Service, the operation was carried out in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Caliber.Az reports.
The operation focused on a vessel that had violated maritime regulations. During a thorough search of the boat, 13 suspicious packages were discovered. Upon inspection, the contents of the packages were found to contain 23.745 kilograms of illegal substances.
The seized narcotics included 23 kilograms and 475 grams of marijuana, 270 grams of opium, and 500 pills of Methadone M-40.
