Azerbaijan conducts extensive work on missing persons cases – ICMP
Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale efforts to determine the fate of missing persons, Kathryne Bomberger, the Director General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), said.
Speaking at the international conference titled “Enhancing cooperation and advancing modern approaches in addressing the issue of missing persons,” which began at the Gulustan Palace in Baku and was organised in cooperation with the ICMP, Bomberger emphasised the key role of institutions such as Azerbaijan’s State Commission on Prisoners of War, Missing and Hostage Persons, Caliber.Az reports.
She noted that the creation and work of such a commission demonstrate the Azerbaijani state’s approach to the issue and lead to significant, large-scale results.
“During my visit, I met with representatives of various state bodies in Azerbaijan, and I would like to say that the State Commission has managed to establish effective cooperation with them. We also work closely with Azerbaijan, sharing advanced technologies and providing all our expertise free of charge,” Bomberger noted.
