Azerbaijan, Georgia forge stronger partnership with new memorandums PHOTO
During the 10th session of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation held in Baku, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed four important documents to strengthen bilateral relations.
Prime Ministers Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan and Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia signed the minutes of the meeting, according to a statement from the Cabinet of Ministers, the press service of Cabinet of Ministers told Caliber.Az.
Additionally, a memorandum of understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Georgia was signed, focusing on consular cooperation. Another significant agreement, a memorandum of understanding between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, outlines cooperation in maritime transport. A protocol of intentions was also signed between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Georgia's Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, aiming to bolster environmental collaboration.
Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, arrived in Azerbaijan on January 17 for his first official visit. He was accompanied by a high-level Georgian delegation, including First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environment and Agriculture David Songulashvili, Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze, and Head of Government Administration Levan Jorjoliani.
The visit follows that of Georgia's Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, further deepening the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
