Karabakh War: Military lessons studied in United States US authors to publish book on Azerbaijan’s victory

Executive Director of US Urban Warfare Institute John Spencer and the Institute’s Former Director, retired Colonel Liam Collins, will publish a book titled “The War for Karabakh: Strategy, Technology, and Victory,” dedicated to Azerbaijan’s victory in the Second Karabakh War, Spencer announced on LinkedIn

This was one of the hardest academic projects I have ever been a part of. We set out to answer one central question: Why did Azerbaijan win the 2020 Karabakh War, and what lessons can militaries take from it?” the post reads, Caliber.Az writes.

“We walked every major battle site with the commanders/veterans of those battles. We interviewed more than 100 Azerbaijani and Armenian military commanders, soldiers, political leaders, and experts.

We studied the strategy, operations, tactics, technology, and decisions that shaped the war. From the grand strategy of both countries to the tactical actions. The work then went through blind peer review. The result is the most detailed account and analysis of the 2020 Karabakh War we could produce. You will not find another book with this level of firsthand research and in-depth analysis of the war,” he wrote.
