Azerbaijan, Georgia hold regular consular consultations PHOTO
Consular consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Georgia were held in Tbilisi on December 2.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, while the Georgian delegation was headed by Giorgi Tabatadze, Director of the Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry of Georgia, Caliber.Az reports.
The event also saw the participation of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, as well as representatives from both countries' foreign ministries, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Justice, the State Migration Service, Georgia’s Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the consultations, the sides exchanged views on the current state of and future prospects for cooperation in the consular sphere, as well as the signing of relevant documents. Discussions were held on protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, providing consular assistance, and addressing challenges that both countries face in these areas.
Furthermore, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in areas of justice, migration, education, and social protection was also explored.
At the conclusion of the talks, the heads of the delegations signed a protocol formalizing the discussions.
