Azerbaijan, IDB discuss cooperation on halal ecosystem development

Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) have discussed the prospects for cooperation in the halal ecosystem development.

A meeting was held with the IDB delegation, Trend reports citing the State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market under the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry.

During the meeting, head of the State Service Mammad Abbasbayli informed about the work being carried out within the “State Programme for 2023-2025 to bring the national standardisation system in line with international requirements”. Special attention was paid to the measures which are taken by the State Service to develop halal quality infrastructure in the country.

IDB Country Operations Manager Farid Khan said that the steps taken to strengthen the quality infrastructure were commendable.
