Azerbaijan, ILO sign new country programme on decent work for 2025–2029
Azerbaijan and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) have signed a new Country Programme on Decent Work, covering the period from 2025 to 2029.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the agreement was signed by Labour Minister Anar Aliyev, Confederation of Trade Unions Chair Sahib Mammadov, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Mammad Musayev, and Mikhail Pushkin, Head of the ILO Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Caliber.Az reports.
The programme aims to further develop social and labour relations in Azerbaijan, ensuring decent work through higher employment, stronger social protection, improved occupational safety, adherence to international labour standards, and the expansion of social dialogue.
Officials said the agreement will enable continued effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and the ILO. Following the signing, Minister Aliyev and Pushkin discussed the finalisation of Azerbaijan’s ratification of the ILO Convention on Occupational Safety and Health.
