Azerbaijan, India hold talks on expanding trade, regional stability PHOTO
On April 3, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met a visiting Indian delegation led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
According to the ministry, the talks in Baku focused on the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and India, with both sides reviewing opportunities to expand collaboration across energy, trade, tourism and education.
Officials also addressed a number of areas where differences persist, underlining the importance of maintaining dialogue to manage disagreements constructively.
According to the ministry, the two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues, including heightened tensions in the Middle East, and emphasised the need to preserve stability and security in the wider region.
The Indian delegation expressed appreciation to Azerbaijan for its assistance in the evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran amid ongoing regional instability.
Following the meeting, the two countries held political consultations between their foreign ministries. The Azerbaijani side was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, while Sibi George led the Indian delegation.
