Azerbaijan, Iran discuss joint construction projects

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizadeh has met Iran's Roads and Urban Development Minister Rostam Ghasemi.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries on the establishment of communication links between the East Zangezur Economic Region of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Iran, according to Report.

The parties noted the importance of completing the technical work on the construction of bridges under this project and the early start of construction work.

The sides also exchanged views on the continuation of the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway and the railway cargo terminal on the Astarachay River, stressing that all these joint projects will contribute to further strengthening trade and economic cooperation and relations between the two neighbouring and friendly countries.
