Azerbaijan joins Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations in Riyadh
The 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) has officially opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of an Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, the forum, themed “UNAOC: Two Decades of Dialogue for Humanity — Advancing a New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in a Multipolar World,” brings together heads of state and government, leaders of international and regional organizations, religious figures, as well as representatives from the private sector, youth, arts, sports, academia, and the media, per Caliber.Az.
During the two-day forum, sessions will focus on topics including “Leading Responsibly in a Multipolar World: Revitalizing Multilateralism through Inclusive Dialogue,” “Interfaith Dialogue as a Bridge to Peace and #OneHumanity”,” “From Digital Realities to Real World Divides: Confronting Deepfakes, AI-driven Disinformation, and the New Algorithmically Amplified Face of Hate,” and “Upholding Human Dignity and Fostering Belonging: Reframing Migration Narratives and Rethinking Cities as Inclusive Spaces for All.”
The forum will also feature a high-level meeting of the UNAOC Friends Group and the UNAOC Youth Forum.
The 11th UNAOC Global Forum is held at a critical point of history, marked by deepening divides, widespread conflicts across the globe and fading trust in the effectiveness of global governance structures and the multilateral system.
