The international search and rescue exercise "Anatolian Phoenix-2025" has officially commenced in the Turkish city of Konya, with Azerbaijani military personnel actively participating in the event.
The exercise, which runs until May 23, aims to enhance cooperation and operational readiness among participating nations in the fields of search, rescue, and humanitarian operations, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Organized by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, the multinational drills feature military units and aircraft from ten countries, including Azerbaijan, Türkiye, the United States, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Qatar, Romania, Slovakia, and Saudi Arabia. The exercise is designed to simulate complex rescue operations in diverse and challenging environments.
Azerbaijan’s participation is represented by a contingent of Air Force personnel, including pilots and crew from the Azerbaijani Air Force, as well as Su-25 attack aircraft. The Azerbaijani team has been stationed in Konya since May 8, fully integrated into the ongoing operations alongside forces from other allied nations.
The "Anatolian Phoenix-2025" exercise is a testament to the growing international cooperation in humanitarian and search-and-rescue missions, showcasing the readiness and coordination between military forces across different regions. The exercise offers a platform for participants to share best practices, strengthen tactical skills, and build diplomatic and military ties.
As the operation continues, it is expected that the participating nations will deepen their collaboration in responding to real-world emergencies, further enhancing the collective capabilities of their forces in disaster response and crisis management.
