Azerbaijan joins Turkic states panel on green innovation in Istanbul Photo
Azerbaijan was represented at a high-level panel discussion on the role of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) in promoting green innovation, held in Istanbul as part of Cleantech Days 2025.
Azerbaijan’s delegation was led by Rashad Khaligov, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development (IRIA), Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The event was organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) in collaboration with the OTS.
It brought together leading policymakers, innovators, and experts from around the world to discuss the development of clean technologies, support for entrepreneurship, and the promotion of a green economy.
Speakers included Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary-General of the OTS; Ciyong Zou, Deputy Director General of UNIDO; Mehmet Aslan, President of TÜBİTAK TEYDEB; Aylin Sekizkök, Director General for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye; Nurlan Kurmalayev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan; and Temur Azamov, Advisor to the Director at the Uzbek Agency for Innovation Development.
Panel discussions focused on strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and promoting an inclusive energy transition.
Participants highlighted the potential of regional cooperation in renewable energy projects, the development of innovative technologies, and advancing environmental sustainability.
