Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan forge closer ties during high-level meetings PHOTO/VIDEO
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov hosted a delegation led by First Deputy Defence Minister of Kazakhstan and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Col-Gen Sultan Kamaletdinov, during their official visit to Azerbaijan on April 25.
The Defense Ministry, as reported by Caliber.Az, highlighted Hasanov's emphasis on the pivotal role of military cooperation between the two nations, grounded in strong fraternal ties, and stressed the imperative to broaden bilateral relations. The delegation was briefed on the ongoing reforms within the Azerbaijani army under the guidance of President Ilham Aliyev, who serves as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Col-Gen Sultan Kamaletdinov echoed the sentiment on the significance of such engagements in fostering military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Discussions during the meeting encompassed various aspects of collaboration, spanning military, military-technical, and military-educational domains.
Subsequently, Col-Gen Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, engaged in discussions with the Kazakh delegation. The talks delved into the current status and prospects of military cooperation, underscoring the importance of joint exercises and facilitating an extensive exchange of perspectives on mutual interests.
In a gesture of recognition, the Kazakh delegation bestowed upon Col Zaur Karimov, Military Attaché of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in Kazakhstan, the prestigious medal For Merits in the Development of International Cooperation as a token of appreciation after the meeting.
