Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan reaffirm strategic inter-parliamentary relations PHOTO
Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel have bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
During the meeting on May 15, both sides emphasised the strong ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, highlighting the historical friendship and mutual support between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports via the Parliament.
Speaker Gafarova praised the state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Azerbaijan last year, during which he visited the Parliament and met with her.
Gafarova underlined the importance of parliamentary collaboration in strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations. She noted that growing ties in the field of parliamentarism have become a key factor in enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
The discussion also focused on international parliamentary cooperation, with particular attention given to activities within the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TurkPA). Gafarova reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to the Organisation of Turkic States and called for continued efforts by parliamentarians to deepen cooperation within TurkPA, which she said fosters closer ties between the peoples of member states.
Ambassador Bayel expressed satisfaction with the current level of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations and spoke about ongoing efforts to further expand cooperation.
