Azerbaijan key geopolitical player, economic centre of Caucasus – Pakistani journalist
Deputy editor-in-chief at Pakistan Economic Net & Daily Ittehad Media Group Maarij Farooq has described Azerbaijan as a key geopolitical player and economic centre of the South Caucasus region.
"The country is located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, playing a key and transformative role in the Caucasus region," says an article by Farooq, Report informs.
According to the article, the final resolution of the Karabakh issue reflects Azerbaijan's commitment to sovereignty and long-term peace.
"Azerbaijan's economic journey is nothing less than a cinematic transformation. The oil and gas boom, which was the first act of this economic saga, has led the nation into a period of prosperity and growth. But as with any great story, there is a twist - a realization of the impermanence of over-dependence on these natural resources," says the deputy editor-in-chief.
In his view, this realization marks the beginning of a new chapter on economic diversification and sustainable development, the transition to agriculture, tourism, and technology.
“The government's investment in technology and innovation centers creates a dynamic ecosystem for startups and global businesses, attracting talent and investment from around the world," Farooq added.
The author points out that Azerbaijan's journey is a remarkable story of transformation and resilience. “From its post-Soviet days to its current status as a key player in global affairs, Azerbaijan has skillfully managed the complexities of geopolitics and economic challenges,” the article notes.
