Azerbaijan launches "Made in Turan" brand to promote Turkic goods
The inaugural products under the "Made in Turan" brand, representing goods from Turkic-speaking countries, were showcased at an e-commerce and export forum in Baku.
Jamid Movsumov, the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Franchise Association, made the announcement during the event, Caliber.Az reports.
"Today, we are presenting the first products under the 'Made in Turan' brand. Our aim is to bring high-quality products to the market under this label. The 'Made in Turan' brand will feature not only food products but also non-food goods and services," said Movsumov.
The new brand seeks to promote and distribute goods from the Turkic-speaking nations, marking a significant step towards regional collaboration in trade and commerce.
Notably, Azerbaijan initiated the creation of the "Made in Turan" brand in 2024 in Kazakhstan, a move aimed at uniting the trademarks of countries within the Turkic world.
Movsumov explained that the new brand will implement a unified product labelling system for goods produced by member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).
He described the "Made in Turan" brand as a significant step towards boosting trade and economic relations within the Turkic world. The initiative is expected to raise the global profile of brands from Turkic countries, promoting their growth through special incentives and increasing regional trade. Movsumov added that the creation of trade houses under this brand is also planned to further support this initiative.
The OTS, comprising nations with a combined population of over 200 million, is expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including politics, economics, trade, culture, energy, agriculture, tourism, and security.
Strategically positioned along the historic Silk Road, countries in the Turkic world play a crucial role in facilitating trade between the East and West. Daily trade turnover between China and European nations now exceeds $1 billion, and the OTS is well placed to become a significant economic force.
The total trade turnover of OTS member countries has already reached $536 billion, while their combined GDP stands at $1.5 trillion, contributing 2.4 percent to global trade. The OTS countries' location along the Middle Corridor route further enhances their strategic importance, both regionally and globally.
