Azerbaijan marks four years of regular bus routes to liberated lands Great Return in numbers
Four years have passed since the launch of the first regular bus route to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, according to the Azerbaijan Republic’s Land Transport Agency (AYNA).
AYNA stated that regular bus services were introduced under the government’s “Great Return” programme to ensure accessible and high-quality transport for citizens returning to or visiting these areas. Since the start of the programme, a total of 15,464 bus trips have been operated, carrying approximately 186,000 passengers to the liberated territories, Caliber.Az reports.

In January this year alone, 1,173 bus trips were conducted, with 10,690 passengers traveling to the region.
Tickets for the regular bus routes are available for purchase online via the Biletim.az website and mobile application. Azerbaijani citizens purchasing tickets to the liberated territories through this platform are automatically issued the required entry permits.
In addition to public transport, citizens also travel to the liberated territories using private vehicles. For this purpose, travelers must register on the Yolumuz Qarabağa portal. To date, 3,286,646 permits for private car travel have been issued, including 3,692 permits granted to foreign nationals.
In January alone, 47,840 Azerbaijani citizens received permits to travel to the liberated territories by private car.
