Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences establishes departments on Western Azerbaijan issues

The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has established three departments to deal with issues related to Western Azerbaijan.

The corresponding decision was made at the meeting of the ANAS Presidium on December 29, Report informs.

A department of the history of Western Azerbaijan was created at the A.A. Bakikhanov Institute of History, a department of the folklore of Western Azerbaijan - at the Institute of Folklore and a department of toponymy - at the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics upon the decision of the ANAS Presidium.

A decision was made to ensure the priority of research in various scientific spheres in connection with Western Azerbaijan, to promote the historical realities associated with Western Azerbaijan at the international level, to hold international and local conferences, symposiums and workshops in the presence of foreign experts.
