Azerbaijan, Oman explore new horizons for cooperation, development UPDATED

During an official visit to Oman, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held talks with Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of the Sultan of Oman, underscoring the commitment of both nations to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The officials praised the growing momentum of Azerbaijan-Oman relations. Both sides conveyed confidence that the upcoming inauguration of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Oman will further accelerate diplomatic, economic, and cultural engagement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

FM Bayramov highlighted the pivotal role of parliamentary diplomacy in reinforcing bilateral ties, noting that his country places high value on the establishment of Azerbaijan-Oman inter-parliamentary friendship groups, scheduled for 2025.

The Foreign Minister also emphasized the significance of major international events to be hosted in Azerbaijan, including the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and the forthcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Baku in 2026. According to Bayramov, these forums will offer vital opportunities to advance cooperation, foster dialogue, promote solidarity, and strengthen sustainable development initiatives across the region.

In addition, the discussions covered a wide range of bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest, alongside broader regional developments, signaling continued alignment between Baku and Muscat on key strategic priorities.

The meeting was announced by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s official X account, Caliber.Az reports.

“During the official visit to Oman Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs & Special Representative of the Sultan of Oman.

At the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of high-level visits which play a crucial role in elevating bilateral relations to a new level and expanding political and economic dialogue between Azerbaijan and Oman.

Azerbaijan reaffirmed its readiness to continue close engagement with Oman within multilateral platforms to promote peace, connectivity, and sustainable development across the wider region,” the post by the ministry reads.
