Azerbaijan pledges to deepen Belarus ties across trade, investment

Azerbaijan remains committed to expanding its partnership with Belarus across all sectors, with a particular focus on trade, investment and industrial cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov said.

Speaking at a reception marking Belarus's Independence Day, Sharifov said bilateral relations were continuing to develop dynamically, describing trade and economic cooperation as one of the main pillars of ties between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

He said Baku and Minsk were prioritising efforts to boost bilateral trade, attract greater investment and deepen industrial cooperation, adding that the complementary strengths of both economies provided a solid basis for closer collaboration.

"The economic potential of both countries and their complementary opportunities create favourable conditions for further deepening cooperation," Sharifov said.

He also highlighted the steady growth of humanitarian and cultural exchanges, saying they continued to strengthen people-to-people ties between Azerbaijan and Belarus.

Sharifov reaffirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to developing relations with Belarus "across all areas in a spirit of friendship and mutually beneficial partnership."

The deputy prime minister recalled that President Ilham Aliyev had previously described Azerbaijan and Belarus as two reliable friends whose relationship had stood the test of time.

Concluding his remarks, Sharifov congratulated the Belarusian people on Independence Day on behalf of the Azerbaijani government, wishing the country peace, prosperity and continued development.
