Azerbaijan prepares passenger transportation model for Baku
The cargo transportation model for Azerbaijan and the passenger transportation model for Baku, prepared by the experts of the International Transport Forum (ITF), as well as the ITF global freight transportation model, have been presented.
The presentation was held within the regional dialogue event on the decarbonisation of transport in Azerbaijan and was the completion of the project entitled "Decarbonisation of transport in Azerbaijan in 2019-2022", jointly implemented in Baku by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the ITF, Report informs.
The regional event is part of the "Decarbonisation of transport in developing countries" project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
Specialists from the corresponding agencies of Uzbekistan, Mongolia, India and Argentina, as well as the UN Development Programme and the Asian Development Bank attended the event.
The countries facing the problem of decarbonisation of transport exchanged views during the event.
The goal of this project is to develop a common vehicle emission assessment framework to reduce vehicle emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and to support countries in achieving climate goals.
