Azerbaijan reopens skies for Azimuth with new Vladikavkaz-Baku route
Russian airline Azimuth has been granted approval by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) to operate regular flights between Vladikavkaz and Baku.
The airline is now permitted to fly this route up to seven times a week, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
In December 2024, Azimuth had announced the cancellation of its flight programme to Azerbaijan. However, Rosaviatsiya clarified that the decision to grant these permissions does not signify the resumption of international flights. The approval is simply a right for the airline to resume services when it chooses to do so.
Meanwhile, airports in Baku and Ganja have revoked slots for Azimuth's flights from Mineralnye Vody and Sochi, following the withdrawal of permission by Azerbaijan's aviation authorities.
