Azerbaijan's Separate Combined Arms Army has recently conducted tactical special exercises of the Air Force, with formations and units of the army aviation and air defence being placed on alert in Nakhchivan.
The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan informed Caliber.Az about the successful completion of the exercises, detailing the rigorous training undergone by the personnel.
As part of the exercises, a pre-flight briefing was held for the aviation crews, outlining the combat tasks ahead. The flight crews of Mi-17 transport and combat helicopters engaged in various maneuvers, simulating evasive actions against multi-level and multi-purpose air defense systems.
The exercises also involved continuous reconnaissance of the airspace by reconnaissance and targeting stations. Data gathered from these stations was meticulously analyzed, processed, and swiftly transmitted to command and control points, ensuring seamless coordination among units.
The assessment of the airspace was not solely reliant on radar units, as data from visual observation posts and the Bayraktar TB2 was also utilized, enhancing the accuracy of situational awareness.
In conditions designed to replicate real combat scenarios, commanders and combat teams honed their skills in entering target kill zones and effectively neutralizing simulated air enemies. Additionally, air defense units practiced engaging small-sized, low-speed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
The exercises proved to be a resounding success, with all set tasks accomplished with precision and efficiency.
