Azerbaijan's border guards thwart illegal migration: Six detained

Azerbaijani border guards apprehended six individuals during operational efforts to secure the state border and combat illegal migration.

According to the State Border Service, one Iranian national was detained on October 2 while attempting to cross the border illegally at the "Khudat" border guard unit, Caliber.Az reports.

On October 4, two Algerian citizens were apprehended, while two Pakistani nationals were detained on October 3 at the "Shamkir" border guard unit. Additionally, on October 7, one Syrian national was detained at a separate border guard unit in Nakhchivan.

Investigations revealed that the detainees aimed to migrate to European countries by breaching the state border. Ongoing operational and investigative measures are being conducted to uncover the channels of illegal migration.
