Azerbaijan's defence chief holds talks in Moscow at CIS ministers’ meeting Photo
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, took part in a meeting of the Council of Defence Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states during an official visit to the Russian Federation.
The meeting was held in Moscow on April 2. At the outset, the defence ministers of the CIS countries laid wreaths and flowers at the city’s Victory Monument in a ceremony conducted with an honour guard and military band. A group photograph of the heads of delegations followed, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry.
During the restricted-format session, participants discussed various aspects of regional security and military cooperation among CIS member states, along with other issues of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the visit, Colonel General Hasanov held a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart, Andrei Belousov.
The talks focused on the current state and future prospects of military and military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
