Azerbaijan's economy minister, EBRD vice-president discuss renewable energy
Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development discussed renewable energy, private sector support and expansion of joint activities in the modernisation of the information technology ecosystem.
Within the framework of the visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, within the visit to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) from Azerbaijan, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with EBRD First Vice-President Jurgen Rigterink in London, Caliber.Az informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy.
The Minister noted the importance Azerbaijan attaches to the development of relations with the Bank and expressed gratitude for the long-term and constant support to the economic development of our country. Stressing the conformity of Azerbaijan's socio-economic priorities with global goals, the Head of the Ministry of Economy pointed to the need to join efforts to achieve the set development goals. In this context, the discussion of practical steps for the implementation of priority projects in the areas of green economy, energy, especially renewable and alternative energy, private sector development, infrastructure and other areas becomes important.
Jürgen Rigterink noted that the cooperation portfolio covers important issues and globally significant initiatives of our country stimulate the partnership. The EBRD First Vice President congratulated Azerbaijan on the country's election as the venue of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) next year and expressed readiness to support Azerbaijan in this direction.
The sides discussed partnership issues, renewable energy, support to the private sector and expansion of joint activities in the field of modernisation of the information technology ecosystem.
