Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has expressed confidence that the bilateral friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and Kenya will continue to grow in the years to come.
In a statement posted on his X page, Bayramov said it was a privilege to join Kenyan officials in Nairobi to mark the 107th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, Caliber.Az reports.
The foreign minister highlighted Azerbaijan’s historical legacy, stating:
"As I shared with our distinguished guests, Azerbaijan takes pride in the legacy of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic established in 1918."
He continued by noting the country's current trajectory:
"Guided by the vision of Heydar Aliyev and the leadership of President H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan today is a strong, independent, and modern state."
Bayramov also expressed gratitude to those who participated in the celebration:
"I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who joined us in this special celebration — and express my confidence that Azerbaijan–Kenya friendship and partnership will continue to flourish in the years ahead."
To recall, Azerbaijan officially inaugurated its embassy in Kenya on June 3, with Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi attending the ceremony in Nairobi.
The two officials hailed the move as a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations, fostering communication, and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Bayramov held high-level discussions with Mudavadi on a range of bilateral and multilateral issues, expressing appreciation for Kenya’s support in facilitating the embassy’s establishment. He also invited President William Ruto to undertake a state visit to Azerbaijan.
