Azerbaijan’s president allocates $5.8 million for Karabakh University

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order on the allocation of financial resources for the operations of the Karabakh University.

Under the document, AZN 10 million ($5.8 million) were allocated from the Reserve Fund of the President of Azerbaijan, as specified in the 2024 state budget, to the Ministry of Science and Education. This financial infusion aims to facilitate the functioning of Karabakh University, Caliber.Az reports. 

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on establishing Karabakh University in Khankendi city on November 28.

The Karabakh University is to be opened in September 2024 as Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev said, where nearly 1,000 students are to study various subjects, tailored to the fundamentals and needs of the region in particular and Azerbaijan as a whole.

The exchange or double degree programs will also be available at the university.
