Azerbaijan's smart village to welcome IDPs soon - foreign ministry PHOTO
The foreign ministry of Azerbaijan has said that the smart village of Aghali in Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district, will soon be welcoming IDP families.
"Today marks World Refugee Day, a day when we honor the strength and resilience of refugees and IDPs worldwide. Azerbaijan looks forward to the return of IDPs and celebrating the start of a new chapter for the Karabakh region. The smart village of Aghali will soon be welcoming IDP families," Caliber.Az reports referring to the ministry's Twitter page.
The Smart Village project was implemented in the Aghali village for the first time in Azerbaijan, the most modern technologies were introduced. Some 200 houses have been built here, and 150 two-three-story houses are being built upon the president’s instructions.
The opening ceremony of the project was held on May 28 - the Independence Day of Azerbaijan in the presence of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
Zangilan District was liberated from long-term occupation during the second Karabakh war in autumn 2020.
