Kazakh leader proposes establishing Cybersecurity Council within OTS
Kazakhstan has proposed the establishment of a Cybersecurity Council within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made this statement at the 12th Summit of OTS leaders underway in Azerbaijan's Gabala City, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The president noted that the Turkic nations are jointly combating terrorism. “However, this should not be the limit of our cooperation, as cyberattacks are widespread across the world. Therefore, I propose the creation of a Cybersecurity Council,” he said.
Tokayev expressed confidence that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship will contribute significantly to the activities of the OTS.
“We highly value the Joint Statement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It is a historic step toward resolution. Several countries are showing great interest in the growing activities of the organisation,” he added.
