During the visit, Colonel General Veliyev met with Lieutenant General Yusuf Jamal, Director General of Pakistan's Strategic Plans Department. The sides had an in-depth discussion about cooperation in military and military-technical fields.
The exhibition, hosted at the Karachi Expo Centre from November 19 to November 22, includes conferences and seminars featuring 38 countries and 350 foreign delegations. The event, inaugurated by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Defence and Defence Production, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, aims to promote shared ideas of peace, stability, and progress.
IDEAS 2024, a major event on the regional calendar, is organised biennially by Pakistan’s Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO). This year, the exhibition has drawn more than 350 high-level delegations from 55 nations and a significant number of trade visitors. According to DEPO, IDEAS has been a key international forum since its inception in 2000.
As a premier platform, IDEAS unites defence manufacturers, entrepreneurs, research and development specialists, financial experts, and policymakers. It facilitates collaboration, knowledge exchange, and exploration of opportunities within the defence sector, acting as a hub for the global defence community to establish business synergies and cooperative initiatives.
