Azerbaijan’s trade with strategic partners sees significant growth, state committee says
Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover with key regional partners Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan reached approximately $681.3 million in the first four months of 2025, marking a substantial 60 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Official figures by the State Customs Committee suggest that trade with Kazakhstan experienced remarkable growth, tripling to nearly $265.7 million during the January-April timeframe, Caliber.Az reports.
Exports to Kazakhstan rose 2.1 times to $34.8 million, while imports surged 3.3 times to $230.9 million, underscoring deepening economic ties between the two nations.
Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Belarus also increased by 3.7 per cent, reaching $142.1 million. Exports to Belarus showed robust growth, nearly doubling to $23.7 million, although imports from Belarus slightly declined by 4.6 per cent to $118.5 million.
Trade relations with Uzbekistan witnessed a significant upswing, with turnover expanding more than threefold to $170.3 million. Azerbaijani exports to Uzbekistan rose by 70.4 per cent to nearly $14 million, while imports surged 3.7 times, totaling $156.3 million.
Conversely, trade with Turkmenistan contracted by 31.5 per cent, amounting to $103.2 million in total turnover. Exports fell by 37.2 per cent to $16.1 million, and imports decreased by 30.3 per cent to $87.1 million during the reporting period.
