Azerbaijan says injured citizens in Sea of Azov incident stable
The condition of Azerbaijani citizens who were injured in an attack in the Sea of Azov is assessed as satisfactory, and some of them may be discharged from hospital in the near future, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has stated.
It said following reports of the deaths and injuries of Azerbaijani citizens in a drone attack on cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov, staff from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation promptly travelled to the scene, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Consular officials from the embassy are currently in the city of Yeysk, where they are providing assistance to the injured and rescued Azerbaijani citizens,
As part of search and rescue operations conducted by relevant Russian authorities, the identification of the deceased and other necessary procedures are ongoing.
Work is also underway to prepare documents for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens, issue return certificates, and organize their repatriation.
The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan made it clear that the situation is under special control and that it is coordinating actions with relevant authorities.
Further information on the identities of the deceased and the repatriation of their bodies will be provided later.
