Azerbaijan seeks stronger energy alliances with Moldova, EU for green transition
Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has engaged in key meetings aimed at strengthening energy cooperation with both Moldova and the European Union.
In a meeting with Moldovan Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu, Jabbarov discussed a wide range of bilateral economic issues, focusing on energy, transport logistics, agriculture, and other sectors, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy told Caliber.Az.
The ministers explored the existing potential for collaboration and examined various initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in these fields.
Notably, the discussions also highlighted the opportunities for joint action on renewable energy projects, reflecting both nations’ interest in transitioning toward more sustainable energy solutions.
Following his discussions with Moldova, Minister Jabbarov met with Dan Jørgensen, the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, to further expand Azerbaijan's role in the green energy transition.
At the meeting, Jabbarov and Jørgensen emphasized the significance of Azerbaijan’s relationship with the European Union, underscoring the EU as one of Azerbaijan's primary foreign trade partners. The talks centered on boosting bilateral cooperation in energy, investment, and green energy initiatives, as well as promoting regional projects aimed at enhancing energy security and sustainability.
